If you have ever tried to lose weight then you understand the importance of eating several small meals per day. The idea behind this is that you will be able to speed up your metabolism, ultimately leading your body to burn more fat. But, what if there was a simple yet all natural ingredient (probably found in your kitchen pantry) that you could take to significantly increase your metabolism? Fortunately, there is and it’s cayenne pepper.

Cayenne pepper has been a long talked about but not widely used method for speeding up the rate at which your body burns fat. There are substances within cayenne peppers which drastically increase a process known as thermogenesis.

Thermogenesis is the process in which the body generates heat, this is important because your body starts to burn lots of fat cells as well as speed up the metabolism during this process.

Cayenne pepper has other stated health benefits such as:

-Alleviates headache

-Relieves pain brought on by diabetic neuropathy.

-Reduces blood cholesterol and triglyceride levels

-Assists the body in dissolving blood clots

-Promotes healthy lungs, intestines and urinary tracts

-Work to kill ulcer causing bacteria within your digestive system

-Stimulates the stomach to secrete protective buffering juices that prevent ulcer formation

It has also been found that cultures that frequently ingest hot peppers like cayenne have a much lower rate of heart attack, stroke and pulmonary embolism. To add a little variety try adding the pepper to a glass of warm water for a different flavor.

Cayenne peppers also contain beta-carotene and pro-vitamin A. Just two teaspoons of cayenne pepper provides you with almost 30 percent of the daily requirement of Vitamin A; this is important because Vitamin A contains antioxidant properties that neutralize free radicals in the body that cause tissue and cellular damage.

The main ingredient in cayenne peppers is capsaicin, a thermogenic chemical which speeds up your metabolism and decreases your appetite. It doesn’t stop there, capsaicin also increases blood flow and increases your sex drive.

Although cayenne pepper has fantastic capabilities to assist in the loss of weight, it won’t be the sole determining factor in your weight loss success. The pepper will act as a stimulant which will help give you enhanced energy, which will lead to a more intense workout. So make sure that you incorporate a healthy diet and plenty of exercise into your weight loss program to reap the full benefits.
